All day. The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation is responding to meet the needs of front-line healthcare workers and hospital staff by collecting messages of thanks and donations. Canada Day Celebration Grande Prairie: Fireworks will be held at 2 locations this year at 11:45pm. Muskoseepi Park and the CKC east fooball field, next to St Josephs Catholic High Scool on the south side of the City. The regular parade will be replaced with a Reverse Parade and Car show from 1pm-4pm. Downtown Businesses are encouraged to decorate their shops and the city will be shutting down a portion of road so people can drive by and look at some antique show cars.

July 1-3, 2020:

Rio Grande Rodeo with Horse and Chuckwagon Races, Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding, Calf Roping, Team Robing, Ladies Barrels, Novice Horse Riding, Junior Barrels, Junior Steel Riding, Junior Break-Away, Peewee Barrels and more. Battle River Rodeo (changing to 3 days this year) Largest Amateur Rodeo in Northern Alberta. Bareback, saddle bronc, bull riding, steer wrestling, ladies barrel racing and team roping. The junior events are novice horse riding, barrel racing, breakaway roping, steer riding, bull riding and peewee barrel racing. July 17-20, 2020:
Many Island Music Festival: There will be bands performing Saturday 12pm-8pm followed by a dance with music by Thick As Thieves. A Kid's Talent Show called Many Islands Idol Sunday morning at 11am with more music to follow for the reminder of the day. There will be wagon rides and face painting going on periodically throughout the entire weekend. We will have a food booth onsite but no ATM. Note: With this latest Corona virus situation we are unsure as to whether or not we will be able to move forward with our event as planned but will keep you in the loop (Many Islands Recreational Society). Many Island Park, 24 km south east of Worsley.

International Chain Saw Carving Championship Competition, Chetwynd & District Rec Centre, Chetwynd BC.
June 10th: Welcome dinner for carvers, sponsors, media and organizers. Draw numbers for logs to see which of the twelve 4’x8’ cedar logs each carver will be using.
June 11-13: 10hrs of carving 8am to 6pm.
June 14: 5hrs to finish main carvings 8 am to 1 pm. Judging 1pm to 3pm. Quick carve 2pm to 3:30pm followed by live auction for quick carve pieces and all wrapped up with awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, peoples choice, carvers choice and committees choice by around 5pm -6pm.
