Archived 2013 Photo of the Mile Zero News, a local newspaper established in 1977 in Grimshaw, Alberta. The newspaper is no longer situated there. Since then the newspapers (Mile Zero News and the Banner Post ) have lost 40% if the advertising revenue and have had to take measures to cut costs. In 2018 the Banner Post and the Mile Zero publications merged to become one regional newspaper that serves Grimshaw, Berwyn, MD of Peace Manning and the County of Northern Lights.

Other newspapers in the area included the Echo and Northern Pioneer publications that merged in 2015 to become one regional newspaper serving High Level and Mackenzie County. Tom and Lorna Mihaly own and publish the Echo-Pioneer as well as the Mile Zero-Banner Post.
