Al Parsons began his career with the Daily Herald Tribune in Grande Prairie in 1969 and later became the sales manager heading a team of 7-8 sales people. After leaving the DHT he started the Parsons Printing Company with his wife Ann in 1988 and continued working their until his passing.

Al Parsons was also well known as a hockey player that started with the Junior A's then moving up to the Senior Athletics where he played for four years. Later he played three years with the Hythe Mustangs and one year with the old Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves.
