Archived photo: For many years the Dixonville School taught kindergarten to grade 9. There are approximately 35 students attending from the area including Golden Ridge, Griffin Creek, and Chinook Valley. Located next to the school is an outdoor rink.

UPDATE: It was decided to close the Dixonville school after the classes were out in 2025 because of dwindling enrolement which resulted in less funding from the Government. The school qualified for provincial funding of $500,000 with 35 or more students. If less than 35. the funding would get cut by more than half. Projected enrolement for September 2025 was estimated at 26 to 31 students, down from 43. In the fall of 2025, students will now be transported to the Grimshaw Public School which is 40 kilomotres south of Dixonville.

On December 15, 2025 it was announced that the Dixonville Rural Academy had been officially approved as Alberta's newest Charter School opening its doors for the 2026-2027 school year.
