A Cairn marks the site of the first and oldest grain elevator in the Peace Country near 98A Street and 104 Avenue. The elevator was originally constructed in 1917 and was the first grain elevator in Northwestern Alberta. It was in service until 2004 and was demolished in September 2005. The Cairn was erected in 2010 by the County of Grande Prairie No. 1.
