In the 1st period FSJ's Todd Alexander scrored at 1:58 with assists Ian Munro & Jeff Fast. In the 2nd Period 16:25, GP's Kelly McLeod tied up the game, with assists from Donny Lloyd and Rod Bowers. FSJ fired back with 2 goals. 10:34 Robbie Sidhu scored with assists to Matt Shuya & David Burke, and a short handed goal by Todd Alexander at 4:31, with assist to Jeff Fast.

Tue, Jan 24, 2012: The Grande Prairie lose to the Horse Lake Chiefs in overtime. Jesse Dudas scored at 2:59 of overtime for the game-winner. In the only other game, High Prairie defeated Valleyview 8-0. Kyle Shantz gets his first career shutout in 91 games and stops 27 shots. Last time High Prairie had a shut-out was Dec 9, 2006 and has had only 2 shut-outs in the last 22 years.
Jan 17, 2012 Summary: The Dawson Creek Canucks Croft Kurka got the first goal (penalty shot) at 11:46 of the 1st period. Chris Stevens of DC scored again in the 2nd period at 6:47. Grande Prairie fired back with Dean Watson scoring at 6:47, Donny Lloyd at 4:22, Jason Jubb at 3:23 and Jason Jubb again at :20. In the third period DC scored twice, Charles Radke at 17:45 and Chris Stevens at 14:59. At 10:47, Donny Lloyd of GP put the Athletics in the lead for the final time to win the game 5-4.

Spirit RIver 4 Grande Prairie 5.
Sat Jan 14: One of the most exititing games to watch. It was a close game that had to be determined with a shootout. Lots of penalties including Grande Prairie's Logan Goodswiimmer who climbed into the Spirit River penalty box and started a fight. Then all three referees climbed in as well to break it up.
Goals in 1st period: Grande Prairie's Matt Alabinati scored the first goal of the game, followed by Kelly McLeod (unassisted and short handed), and Scott Tage. Spirit River struck back with Cory Littman and Dustin Sather scoring one each.
Goals 2nd period: Spirit River tied it up with Evan Boire scoring. GP's Matt Albinati got his second goal to put the A's ahead in the final seconds of the 2nd period.
Goals 3rd period: Early in the period Kyle Zachkowsky gave the Spirit River Rangers the tie.

High Prairie 5 Hythe 12.
Sat Dec 10: The game was delayed as High Prairie arrived late after getting lost taking a short cut to Hythe. With only 8 players, High Prairie struggled most of the game. Penalties and injuries did not help. Rob Takala scores in the final minutes of the 2nd period (photo above) to give Hythe a 7-2 lead.

Sat, Dec 2: Pat Rowan puts the Pirates ahead in the final minutes of the first period in the photo above. This is the first time Falher has played in the Hythe Arena for several years, and coach Mat Masonneauve expected it to be a tough game.

Sat, Nov 26: Rob Takala's third goal of the game 14 seconds into OT was the winner. Last season, in 2010-2011, Hythe became the first team in the NPHL since the 1990-91 season to go the entire season without a single player scoring a hat-trick in a game. The last Mustang to score a hat-trick in a game before last night was Colin Lefely, who scored three goals in a 6-4 win at High Prairie Jan 30, 2010. .

Thur, Nov 24: Grimshaw's 6-2 win over High Prairie on Thursday Nov 24, was their first home ice win over High Prairie since Nov 10, 2005. In the Lakeland at Falher game, Falher scored six PPG's and since 1990-1991, that has only been done 25 previous times including playoffs. -Chris Clegg NPHL Statistician.

Nov 19, 2011: The Grimshaw Huskies were faced with a number of penalities that gave the Athletics many chances to scrore. Fight broke out at 4:37 of 2nd period. After first period score 0-0 and 2-0 after 2nd. Athletics Shane Mudryk and Matt Albinati each scored twice while Jordon Bombier got one goal.

The Dawson Creek Canucks surprised the Athletics by scoring the first goal and keeping the lead most of the game. Above is a photo of one of the first goals by the Canucks that finds its way in.

More than a 1,000 fans gathered at the new Grimshaw arena as fans were pleased that the home team came up on top. NPHL Statitcian Chris Cleg indicates that the game had 274 penalties minutes, the 17th highest PIM total in the NPHL regular season game since the start of the 1991-92 season when records were kept. (Lakeland 139 PIM, Grimshaw 135 PIM) The game featured 11 misconducts, 9 game miisconducts, 6 fighting majors. Lakeland's Drake Cunningham, Claude Cunningham, Charles Laboucan all face one-game suspensions, whille Grimshaw's Cordell Quinney, Jamie Noskey and Jon Lewis all have one-game suspensions.

Mike Mohr scored twice for the Athletics, while Shane Mudryk scored once and had two assists. Grant Rix, Jordan Bomier, Joey Bilodau and Donny Lloyd also scored for Grande Prairie. Hythe Mustangs goals were made by Ryan Lizotte, Taylor Jones and Mike Bowen. This year the Hythe Mustangs is headed by coach BJ Clark.

May 2012: The Valleyview Jets might be dropping out of the 2012-2013 season. Final decision will come Sept 2012. The Maning Comets have plans to return to the NPHL Season.
